Conversations With New York Times Writer,
Mr. Bruce Lambert
This is the time period which really got me seriously
thinking about writing a book. I felt that "if I can capture
this gentleman's attention for 1 and 1/2 years, then I
could do the same for the public at large with my book."
Mr. Bruce Lambert wrote articles which circulated the
world. This is how he grabbed my attention. An article
on Miss Alison Gertz, grand daughter of the well-known
Gertz family. The "old money" of New York city. Gertz
Department Stores were suppose to be on the same level
as J.C. Pennys down here in Florida. It was this 1 and
1/2 year telephone relationship with Mr. Lambert, along
with certain events which took place during this time
frame that "sealed the deal" on writing a book.
The "certain other events" were important as well, filled
with successes and failures on my part. God should bless
Mr. Lambert for hearing me out. I certainly "rant and raved"
enough. Mr. Lambert was the calm one. He was a good listen-
er. He let me get things off my chest. I was really surprised
that he was so patient. I guess this is one of the qualities of
a good writer. I think Bruce is a great writer! I will tell
you what we discussed within the book. I promised Mr.
Lambert a book, and I will deliver. He kept me informed
on what was happening in the world of AIDS. We discussed
quite a bit, including the agonies of Miss Alison Gertz. I will
not reveal anything personal. A "made for home" movie was
completed shortly after her death. I hope you had a chance
to see it.
